Avant-Garde is a Chypre Fragrance for men created by Jean-Claude Astier and launched in 2006 by M. Micallef. The fragrance opens with a strong array of Citrus notes thanks to top notes of Citruses, Bergamot and Grapefruit. The heart of the fragrance contains Tobacco, Cacao and Incense, which sit on top of a base of Tonka Bean, Russian Leather and Ambergris. The fragrance starts incredibly fresh, vibrant and excitingly with all the Citrus notes combining, but over time it develops and the middle notes give the fragrance a rougher, more rugged character, with the Cacao, Tobacco and Incense all creating a much darker, more exotic scent. The fragrance then manages to shift again into an almost aquatic fragrance as the Ambergris takes a hold, giving the fragrance a really enjoyable journey. This is wonderfully blended, amazingly smooth and a truly unique fragrance that's perfect in the colder months of the year.
